Now I am hearing ALLLL about her legacy (outside of the entertainment industry)… wish I’d paid more atention while she was alive.
I wish I had seen her perform live! I must make time to go to more concerts to make sure that I see the “greats” in action…I still haven’t seen Stevie Wonder…I bought a ticket to see Etta James for my birthday a few years ago, but she had to cancel at the last minute…
I LOVEEEEE Stevie Wonder and yes you have to see him!!! Went to Phillips a few years ago when he started touring again – no opening act and no long breaks: just him!!!! It was amazing. He performed for a little under 2 hours. True classic. Maya is on my list now!
She was indeed a class act. I don’t know where she was spiritually, but do wish that she rests in peace. I read a biography years ago by her daughter which was very interesting–I forget the title, but I’d like to re-read it.
