Mama’s Prayer, Andraé Crouch & More Christian Entertainment News…

If you’re in the A, check out the inspirational play “Mama’s Prayer,” a play that will make you laugh, cry, but most of all think about your personal relationship with Jesus Christ…“Mama’s Prayer” is about a strong Christian woman who holds her family together through her Christian values despite the trials and tribulations that lie within her family. This play will suck you in and have you cheering for this family and what they stand for. sherriAnd finally, since I am one of Sherri Shepherd’s biggest fans, I am happy to tell you that we have more opportunities to see her on the small screen…Sherri will appear in 10 of 12 episodes in season four of “The Soul Man” which begins in 2015, according to The Hollywood Reporter…She will portray Nikki, “the unpredictable cousin to Cedric the Entertainer’s Boyce Ballentine.” She will be on the show along with her BFF Niecy Nash.

Should the Atlanta Falcons Be in Church Today?…The Church Lady Curse…

I’m not really a sports aficionado…Most of what I know about what’s going on in the sports world is just told to me by my husband…However, I must admit I’ve been checkin’ for the Atlanta Falcons over the last year or so when I heard the news that two historic black churches, Friendship Baptist Church, Atlanta’s oldest black Baptist church which was instrumental in the founding and establishment of Morehouse and Spelman Colleges and  Mount Vernon Baptist Church would be demolished to make room for a brand new $1.2 billion stadium for the Atlanta Falcons…Members of the churches voiced strong opinions on either side, but one member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, called the church lady by 1380 WAOK’s Derrick Boazman, spit her words out with absolutely no restraint at all…

“Desecrating the sacred ground of two historic black churches to build a stadium facility for a second rate football team,” said Mount Vernon Baptist Church member Vickie Johnson, according to an 11Alive News report by Keith Whitney…

I cannot personally vouch for Ms. Johnson’s personal relationship with God, but she may know something that Arthur Black, owner of the Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Falcons don’t y’all…Since then, the Atlanta Falcons haven’t been able to string a few wins together, losing 17 of 22 games according to Whitney, when the team seemed to be at least a decent team before Ms. Johnson put the whammy on them…Last week, they even traveled (along with many hopeful fans) and lost royally in London..

So I’m thinking this needs to be you, Mr. Blank, and the Atlanta Falcons, on today, since the Atlanta Falcons aren’t playing…

Gospel Singer Yolanda Adams & More To Appear on Sherri Shepherd’s Last Day on “The View!”

As one of Sherri Shepherd’s biggest fans, I have to help publicize her last day on ABC’s “The View.” The show will be filmed in advance and airs on Aug. 11, according to Sherri Shepherd via her Twitter account. However, the show promises to be a show to remember as Yolanda Adams is slated to perform and Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, New Edition, Bell Biv DeVoe and Arsenio Hall will also be in the house, according to the Yolanda Adams Morning Show!

Sherri spoke with me about how she got the courage to leave her stable job as a legal secretary in Los Angeles and launch her acting and comedy career for my book “After the Altar Call: The Sisters’ Guide to Developing a Personal Relationship With God.” One of the most inspiring statements she made in the interview was about how God has spoken to her as she had ascended in her career. She says she feels like God is saying, “Come here. Make the move. You make a move; I will make a move. I’m on the other side of this fear. Run toward it because you are running toward Me. Run toward the thing that you fear the most because the blessings are on the other side.” And of course, if you want to know what else she said, you have to read the book 🙂

And just because Sherri will no longer be on “The View,” she is obviously still in God’s view. In fact, she already has a gig lined up with more to come! According to Deadline.com, Sherri has joined the cast of “Ride Along 2” with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart! In addition, she will also be featured in Chris Rock’s dramedy “Top Five” which is about a New York City comedian-turned-movie star, which will be shown at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. So let’s keep checking for Sherri!
