Paramount Pictures Releases Trailer for Atlanta Hostage Crisis Movie “Captive” Starring David Oyelowo!

Paramount Pictures released today the first trailer for its upcoming film “CAPTIVE,” starring David Oyelowo (“SELMA,” “A MOST VIOLENT YEAR”) and Kate Mara (“FANTASTIC FOUR,” “House of Cards”). The film will open in theaters September 18th, 2015.

Based on the miraculous true story that drew the attention of the entire nation in 2005, “CAPTIVE” is a thrilling drama about the spiritual collision of two broken lives. When Brian Nichols – on the run as the subject of a city-wide manhunt and desperate to make contact with his newborn son – takes recovering meth addict Ashley Smith hostage in her own apartment, she turns for guidance to Rick Warren’s best-selling inspirational book, “The Purpose Driven Life.” While reading aloud, Ashley and her would-be killer each face crossroads where despair and death intersect hope.

Directed by veteran filmmaker Jerry Jameson, “CAPTIVE” is based on the book “Unlikely Angel by Ashley Smith with Stacy Mattingly. The film’s screenplay is by Brian Bird.

In addition to Oyelowo and Mara, “CAPTIVE” also stars Leonor Varela, Jessica Oyelowo, with Mimi Rogers and Michael K. Williams.

The film was produced by Terry Botwick, Jerry Jameson, Lucas Akoskin, Alex Garcia, Katrina Wolfe, David Oyelowo and Ken Wales. The executive producers are Santiago Garcia Galván, Jonathan Gray, Brian Bird, Elliott Lester and Ralph Winter.

“Heaven Is For Real” Opens TODAY!!!

I’ve been waiting to see this movie which I think would be a perfect family outing for Easter 🙂

Below is a description of the movie and a trailer….

Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name “Heaven Is For Real” brings to the screen the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son’s extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world.

“Heaven Is For Real” stars Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo and co-stars Kelly Reilly as Sonja Burpo, the real-life couple whose son Colton (newcomer Connor Corum) experiences Heaven during emergency surgery. Colton recounts the details of his amazing journey with childlike innocence. He describes Heaven in vivid detail, and speaks matter-of-factly about things that happened before his birth … things he couldn’t possibly know. Todd is called upon by his congregation to explain the meaning of Colton’s revelations, and he and his family are challenged to examine their faith and draw meaning from this remarkable event.

The senior production executive for the movie is DeVon Franklin, senior VP of production at Columbia Pictures, and Bishop T.D. Jakes is one of the film’s producers according to Variety magazine.
