Hello World,

May you remember the sacrifice the Lord made on this Good Friday when He allowed His precious son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross that we may be able to have a relationship with Him.

RADIO ONE recently announced a National Day of Prayer campaign to be held today on Good Friday, April 10, 2020.  The Radio One COVID-19 National Day of Prayer, #OneinPrayer, will feature syndicated radio personalities, Erica Campbell, host of Get Up! Al Sharpton; civil rights leader and founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Rev. “During these challenges times, I am grateful that our company can serve as a voice of hope and a vehicle of prayer for our world as it faces this global pandemic,” said Cathy Hughes, chairwoman, Urban One, Inc.  “It is especially meaningful since so many churches will not be able to hold traditional Good Friday and Easter services due to the social distancing mandates.  As a company, we are honored to provide an opportunity to join arms with our gospel artists and the faith community in prayer.  This is what service and community are all about.”

Pastor Jamal Bryant & New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Postpones COVID-19 Testing Event Previously Scheduled for Today…

Hello World,

In this Coronavirus Crisis, we are learning to be flexible, if anything, particularly when it comes to previously scheduled events. According to the AJC, “the Stonecrest megachurch said New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and Texas-based RoweDocs  planned to provide drive-thru coronavirus testing for 1,000 people this weekend on the church’s Stonecrest campus. The testing was planned to be split evenly over Saturday and Sunday and those tested should know the results in about 24 hours.”

Additionally, according to the AJC, “established in 2014, RoweDocs is African-American owned telemedicine company. Bryant  said there are so many people of color  living on the margins without adequate access to health services or little or no health issues, that this was the right thing to do.”

However, if you live in Georgia, you know that Gov. Brian Kemp recently issued an executive order for the state to shelter in place and so Pastor Jamal Bryant and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church have had a change of plans, according to its Facebook page. See the announcement below.

I applaud the church’s effort though. Y’all, we gotta keep praying that this Coronavirus Crisis will come to an end and soon…Have mercy on us Lord…

Love Beyond Walls Installs Portable Sinks Throughout Atlanta So That Homeless People Can Wash Their Hands Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Hello World,

We’ve heard over and over again that washing your hands is one of the best ways to stop the spread of COVID-19, but for homeless people, that guideline is particularly challenging. If you have a home, you can wash your hands in your sink, but if you don’t have a home, it’s unlikely that you have a sink. And with only essential businesses operating at the moment (at least here in metro Atlanta), fewer public sinks are available than even before.

But Atlanta’s Love Beyond Walls is addressing this challenge through its Love Sinks In campaign in which the ministry will install portable sinks throughout the city that homeless people can use. Christian rapper Lecrae is one of the supporters of this campaign. According to the Love Beyond Walls website, it costs about $100 to build a sink and its goal is to install 100 sinks around the city. You can support Love Sinks In by clicking HERE.

Below is a Palm Sunday update about the Love Sinks In campaign from Terence Lester, executive director of Love Beyond Walls.
