Hello World,

My favorite Christian celebrity Sherri Shepherd, who was featured in my book  “After the Altar Call: The Sisters’ Guide to Developing a Personal Relationship With God,” is a moving target, chile! Tonight she returns to the sitcom arena starring as researcher, Anne, in “Trial & Error” at 10 pm EST/9 pm Central on NBC! I’m sure her first career as a legal secretary in Los Angeles helped her to prepare the role!

The show synopsis is below…

TRIAL & ERROR — Pictured: “Trial & Error” Photo by: NBCUniversal)

In the spirit of true crime documentaries, this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto), who heads to a tiny Southern town for his first big case. His mission? To defend an eccentric “rollercizing” poetry professor (John Lithgow) accused of the bizarre murder of his beloved wife. Settling into his makeshift office behind a taxidermy shop and meeting his quirky team of local misfits, Josh suspects that winning his first big case will not be easy, especially when his client is always making himself look guilty.

The cast also includes Jayma Mays, Steven Boyer and Krysta Rodriguez.

Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller serve as writers and executive producers. Jeffrey Blitz directs and also serves as an executive producer. “Trial & Error” is produced by Barge Productions and Good Session Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

So will you be watching Sherri Shepherd on “Trial & Error” tonight at 10 p.m. EST on NBC?

Hello World,

On the premiere episode, Grammy Award-winning singer songwriter, Chrisette Michele, addresses her controversial decision to perform at the 2017 Presidential Inaugural Ball for President Donald Trump, which thrust her into the national spotlight. In an intimate sit-down interview, Chrisette reveals her personal motivations and struggles in the face of incredible backlash. She also recounts her tumultuous journey to restore a love that was almost destroyed by the music industry. This can’t-miss episode of “BEING” will show that having the love and career of your dreams, can also come at a grand cost.

Kierra Sheard and her episode of BEING is the story of a young woman born into a family of gospel music royalty (The Clark Sisters) and a strong Christian faith. With expectations set high to follow the successful blueprint already written, Kierra struggles to find her own way in both artistry and ministry. Not wanting to be boxed in by the presets of her mother and father, she is a lot more honest about her shortcomings than the gospel fan base is used to experiencing. Kierra is an open book and she connects to the masses by often discussing her weight issues, cosmetic surgery and her own character flaws – including her choices in men. She is boldly creating her own path, in hopes of reaching those who aren’t interested in stepping inside a church. But she is learning that sometimes the road less traveled, is a hard one…

Tasha Cobbs Is Married Now! (PICS + VIDEO)

Hello World,

There are very few things I love more than a good wedding! Although I’m not a personal friend of vocal powerhouse and Grammy Award winner Tasha Cobbs who is known for her stirring songs such as “Put a Praise on It” and my favorite “Jesus Saves,” I shared in her wedding bliss via her Facebook and Instagram pages and other social media pages of family and friends. Tasha, who hails from Jesup, Georgia (also the hometown of one of my Delta line sisters) married Franklinton, North Carolina native Kenneth Leonard, Jr., who is the musical director for his now wife, Anthony Hamilton and Tamia Hill.

The private wedding, which took place on Friday at 7 p.m.,  was officiated by Bishop Designee Bryan J. Pierce Sr. The ceremony included a Prelude in which Isaac Carree sang “Still in Love,” the Processional in which Kierra Sheard sang “Bless the Broken Road” and Recessional in which Kierra also sang “Make Me Better.”

Some of the guests at the Cobbs-Leonard wedding were Bishop William H. Murphy III and Pastor Danielle Murphy, Bishop Designee Bryan J. Pearce Sr. and Lady Debra Pierce, Bishop I.V. Hillard and Pastor Bridget Hilliard, Pastor Preashea Hilliard, Dr. Ireshea  Hilliard and Bishop Paul and Pastor Debra Morton, who were seated at Head Table B. Attorney Phaedra Parks from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and Gospel Singer James Fortune attended the nuptials as well. Entrees served at the reception were honey pecan fried chicken and braised short ribs with sides creamy corn souffle, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach with pearl onion…(I promise you every time I look at pictures of the food from my wedding reception, I get hungry…yes, I’m just greedy like that! LOL)
